Serving Boulder City Since 1937

Our Community Service

Rotary Service within the Boulder City Community

The Rotary Club of Boulder City prides itself on the amount of assistance we provide to our wonderful community.

From our mini-grants for special programs in the schools and services we provide to the senior community to our fundraising community events, such as the Best Dam Barbecue and July 4th Pancake Breakfast…not a month passes that we are not serving in our community in some way.

This year, we are on schedule to continue the support we provide through donations and/or support to…

  • Boulder City Emergency Aid – We make a financial contribution to support the work Emergency Aid does to help Boulder City residents in need.
  • Lend A Hand of Boulder City – We make a financial contribution to support Lend A Hand – a local organization dedicated to assisting seniors remain independent in their homes.
  • Every 15 Minutes – Every other year, we co-sponsor this program that re-enacts the potential consequences of drinking/texting while driving for sophomores and junior high school students at Boulder City High School.
  • St. Jude’s Ranch for Children – We make a financial contribution in support of St. Jude’s Ranch for Children’s mission of assisting abused, abandoned and neglected children and families.
  • Dan Leach Memorial Fund – We support this organization, which provides less fortunate children with positive, fulfilling community and academic-based endeavors currently beyond their reach due to financial barriers.
  • Teen Leadership Camp – We are one of the sponsoring clubs of Rotary TLC – a leadership training program for outstanding 8th Graders selected from our own community, as well as San Gabriel Valley, the West End of the Inland Empire, the High Desert and Southern Nevada.
  • Boulder City High School Robotics – We support this high school extra-curricular activity, which immerses high school students in the world of design, engineering and technology.
  • Boulder City American Legion Post 31 – We are a sponsor of their annual golf tournament, the proceeds of which provide support to Boulder City’s military families – both past and present.
  • Rotary Youth Leadership Awards – RYLA is Rotary’s leadership training program for young people which focuses on leadership, citizenship, and personal growth.
  • School Mini-Grants – We believe our youth is our future, so we give small grants to Boulder City educators for a wide variety of classroom and school projects.
  • Happy Feet – This is a program where elementary students in need of new shoes are identified and their feet made happy by the arrival of…yes, new shoes!
  • American Legion State Leadership training- We provide financial assistance to identified Boulder City High School junior boys and girls to attend state leadership training.
  • Four Way Speech Contest – We participate in the Rotary speech contest, where area high school students compete by delivering speeches that demonstrate use of the Rotary Four Way Test. The competition ranges from the club level through the district level.
  • Dan Stover Music Competition – We support our high school Seniors in this music competition that was designed to honor a Rotarian who was a music educator. Students compete at the club level through the district level.
  • Hensel Ethics Essay Contest – We participate in this essay contest for high school students that was started by Rotarian George Hensel. Students include their views of ethics in their essays, which are judged at the club and district level.
  • Literacy Project – We work with the Boulder City Library to meet the literacy needs of the community. The club currently assists in buying software for computer literacy and contributing to the summer student reading program.
  • Santa Clothes – We are one of many Rotary Clubs in the Las Vegas area who combine our resources (in both money and Rotarians) to take students in need shopping at the mall on a December day to buy $100 worth of clothes. Once the shopping is completed, youngsters and mentors head to UNLV for lunch and activities.
